About Kasey

Kasey is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s from University of Maryland Baltimore County in Psychology with a minor in Social Work. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of the Cumberlands. She has experience working in private practice settings treating both individuals and couples and working with children as young as 4, adolescents, and adults. Kasey utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples move from a place of emotional disconnection and conflict towards a secure and satisfying relationship. She also utilizes Gottman Methods to facilitate constructive communication and cultivate intimacy, respect, and affection within romantic partnerships.

Clinical Focus

Kasey offers a trauma-informed and attachment-focused perspective with individualized, holistic, and inclusive therapeutic tools. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a safe space for partners to explore their emotional vulnerabilities, deepen their understanding of each other’s needs, and break free from perpetual negative cycles of conflict and disconnection. She facilitates exploration, emphasizing the importance of not only discovering current relationship needs and patterns but also understanding how these originate from early life experiences. Kasey’s goal is for her clients to feel that they have created a safe and supportive environment with one another, feel emotionally regulated when conflict arises, and develop new, healthy ways of bonding with each other. Her belief is that every person has a place in their core where they experience curiosity, confidence, and calm, and she is passionate about helping her clients return to that place.

“Self-criticism is an invasive weed in the garden, but too many of us have been taught to treat it like a treasured flower, even as it strangles the native plants of our sexuality. Far from motivating us to get better, self-criticism makes us sicker.”
