Marriage Counseling is the key offering of The Marriage Point. We believe that strong marriages are the key to transforming an entire community and we work to provide the best care to our clients. We work with couples who are experiencing troubling times in their relationship and with couples who are wishing to take their marriage to a deeper level of emotional and physical intimacy. Typical issues addressed include communication, conflict resolution, parenting concerns, life-work balance, ministry and marriage, sexual intimacy, emotional connection, extended family issues, and affair recovery.

Sex Therapy

Your sex life is a tangible representation of your emotional life. Sex therapy addresses emotional and sexual difficulties within a committed relationship. There is never any nudity or sexual touching during a session. The therapist utilizes therapeutic talk therapy methods to address underlying emotional, relational, biological, and physical issues which are impacting your relationship inside and outside the bedroom. Lana specializes in working with couples faced with these challenges. She conducts a thorough assessment of personal and relational history and prescribes a specialized treatment plan to address your concerns. During the course of sex therapy we address topics such as orgasmic difficulties, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, pain during intercourse, problems with desire, arousal and intimacy, and help you cultivate an ability to be emotionally and mentally present with yourself and your partner.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling helps you grow both as a person and as a partner and spouse. Often times, when your past dictates your present relationships, it can be challenging to respond to people and situations in healthy ways. If you don’t understand and accept yourself, it is difficult to engage with others in meaningful and authentic ways. Individual counseling addresses issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma, relational concerns, vocational concerns, professional growth and many others.

Family Counseling

Family Counseling is a valuable tool to help families through times of transition and adjustment, grief and loss, and with general family dynamics which are keeping them from becoming places of unconditional love, safety and respect. We work with families of every composition and in every stage of life, from new parents to empty nesters, from “traditional” family units to modern families, we are honored to support your family to be a safe haven in your life. Typical areas addressed include divorce, grief and loss, parenting concerns, life transitions, single parenting, work-life balance, extended family dynamics, acculturation and integration, spirituality, sexuality, and many others.

Pastoral Counseling

Pastoral Counseling is an important element of the array of counseling services which the Marriage Point provides to our community. Our Certified Pastoral Counselor is equipped to help individuals, couples and families address their concerns within the context of their faith and spirituality. Typical areas address include premarital counseling, vocation and calling, grief and loss, clergy-church relations, spiritual growth, ministry-life balance, and life meaning.
