About Viorel Ispas, AMFT, APC

Viorel Ispas holds a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University, and is licensed as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist and licensed as an Associate Professional Counselor in Georgia. He combines his clinical skills with his work and life experience to help clients overcome life challenges and achieve goals that they did not believe possible on their own. 

Viorel has invested almost three decades of work serving people, both internationally and in the United States. His work experience includes extensive and strategic efforts to improve the lives of children, teens, adults, families, and entire communities in need. He has worked with people from various economic, social, cultural, and religious backgrounds. His workspace to help others has seen many forms: from Kosovar refugee camps, to Romanian orphanages, to churches and religious organizations in the US and world-wide, and now to counseling clinics. He has been married for 33 years and together with his wife, Tamara, they have three daughters and one grandson.

Clinical Focus

Viorel draws from various theoretical orientations including Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strength-based approaches such as Solution Focused and Narrative therapies, and other systemic and strategic theories. As a Prepare/Enrich facilitator and with training in the Gottman method and other methods of marriage and couple therapy, he is prepared to help couples resolve their challenges and build fulfilling, long lasting relationships.

Viorel specializes in working with couples, families of any size, preteens, teenagers, and adult individuals. His areas of expertise include premarital and marital counseling, family conflict, parenting, pre-teen and adolescent issues, life skills training, life transitions, career counseling, immigration challenges, etc. 

Viorel is uniquely equipped to work with people involved in Christian ministry and missions, including international work challenges and community based projects. He also works with individuals to help them overcome depression, anxiety, panic attacks, various phobias, addiction, relationship issues, trauma, emotional disturbances, personality disorders, and other mental health challenges.

Viorel is fluent in Italian and Romanian and can conduct counseling in these languages.

Fee & Insurance Information

Viorel’s fee is $120 for individual sessions which are typically 50 minutes in length, and $160 for couples sessions which are 80 minutes in length.

Viorel does not directly participate with any insurance network.
