Brittany is an Associate Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Music Therapist in the state of Georgia. She earned her bachelor’s in Psychology, with a minor in Music from Brooklyn College and a Dual Master’s in Music Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Immaculata University.

About Brittany Stephen, APC, MT-B

Brittany is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a Board-Certified Music Therapist. She often uses music and other creative-based modalities, as a form of expression in her therapeutic sessions. She has experience working with individuals, couples and families in various mental health settings including, community mental health, inpatient care, university, and private practice. Brittany’s counseling approach is humanistic, and collaborative, leading with respect, humility, and empathy for the common human experience. Her passion is in working with individuals and families to address concerns that impact quality of life and personal growth.

Her varied experience includes serving youth ages 10-17, and young and middle adults. She has additional training and experience working with married couples and families using creative expressive techniques to encourage relational cohesion and conflict resolution.

She currently provides individual, couples, and family counseling. The clinical challenges Brittany assists clients in working through include but are not limited to, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, work-related stress, and marital counseling. In her free time, Brittany enjoys quality time with her husband and pet chihuahua, singing, playing guitar, and gaming.

Clinical Focus

Brittany’s passion as a clinician lies in her belief that everyone is inherently capable of reaching their full potential, self-actualizing. She is committed to aiding each person in gaining awareness and confidence in their abilities to relate to themselves and others. Brittany strives to offer a therapeutic environment by providing acceptance, safety, and non-judgement. She also believes that verbal therapy does not always align with expression, having passion in providing opportunities for creative expression using music, art, Sandtray, poetry, and other outlets when words do not feel enough. Brittany values education and prioritizes continuing learning opportunities that provide additional knowledge and skill development in the latest evidenced based methods to enhance her work with clients. Brittany is a Level 1 Trained Gottman Therapist.

Brittany’s counseling leans on a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy where clients can build awareness in their abilities and implement change in their relationships with themselves and others.

Fee & Insurance Information

Brittany’s individual counseling fee is $125 for 50 minutes, and $150 for 80-minutes. Her couples counseling fee is $175 for 60 minutes, and $210 for 90 minutes.

Brittany does not directly participate with any insurance network. However, she is able to provide you with all the necessary paperwork to be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
